Event Review: CulTalent

The Jordanian Romanian Forum for Culture, have organized at the beginning of last march, its cultural day and young talents show, CulTalent.

The Show which hosted over 42 talents, and which was sponsored by Al-Ahlia Plaza SuperStores and Class Dry Clean resulted in a great audience and success, having an audience of over 250 people from different ages, communities, and regions enjoying just over 2 hours of amazing talents performing music, dancing, acting sketches, and playing on musical instruments, as well as displaying their art works in the parallel gallery.

The show will feature various young talents performing on the piano, playing theater pieces, break dancing, and singing. As well as an Art Gallery, a folkloric fashion show, and a small book exhibition.

Social Meeting Review - 16,Feb, 2008

The Jordanian Romanian Forum for Culture, along with the members of the facebook group, Romanian in Jordan. Have organized a social meeting for youth from Jordanian Romanian Families, at Paris Library - Jabal Al-Weibdeh. on Saturday the 16th of Feb, 2008.

Unfortunately, only 12 have shown up, but fortunately we had alot of interesting discussions, alot of fun, and we got to know each other better.

Here are some photos from the meet-up, the photos were taken for the 1st 2 people to register in the JRFC from outside the executive founders board, launch by that the forum membership registration campaign.

Volleyball Valentine!

We are Organizing a Volleyball game in Amman's Academy - Khalda on the 14th of February 2008 from 17:00:00 pm to 19:00 pm.
For all those lonely hearts, come release it with a jumping ball, maybe cupid will attack you with a ball right in your face :D

20 persons are only allowed, For Those who wants to play, they should wear athletic shoes and clothes, no food is allowed inside the Gym, and children are not allowed (preferably +15 or +16)
So for those who wants to play, please call Diana Dumor @ 0795959080, or leave a comment with your information on this post and reserve a place, the ticket will be 2.5 JD's / person, so we can cover the Gym’s reservation cost.
Only the first 20 people who register will be allowed the rest will be on the waiting list

Talent show

Dear All
One of the ideas we've had for the Jordanian-Romanian Youth is to have a talent show, where those youth who want to tell jokes, sing, act (rehearsed or improvised), juggle, give readings from stories or poems they've written, show a collection of their own, play a musical instrument, show off sculptures Photographs, Posters or paintings, may do so.
But we need to know who might be interested in performing in order to figure out how much time will be needed and what equipment (microphones, stands to display your Models, photos, paintings or posters, for example) might be needed. If you consider participation, please contact us, we already have a list of names since the first time we announced the idea, but we wanted to give chances to those who did not know about it.
The talent show most probably will take place in the Royal cultural center at the end of February, Friday (29-Feb-2008), we are waiting for the reservation to be approved from the ministry of culture.
I will need your reply before, Friday (1st February 2008) so I can send the lists with names.
For those who are already registered I will call you back for sure.

I want to tell you that we have many talents, and we want to show everybody that we deserve support from them.

Please tell other Jordanian-Romanian youth.

Film Screening about Mihai Eminescu

In continuity for the cultural activities for commemorating The romanian poet, Mihai Eminescu. which was held earlier this month on the 15th.

The 1st Romanian Movie Night Festival - Details.

With relation to the earlier announced "1st Romanian Movie Festival". here are details you'd find useful about the event.

The show will be held in Al-Balad Theater on the 1st of December, 2007.

This event is sponsored by TESCO, Intelligent office solutions.
This event is done in cooperation with MediaPro Distribution romania, and the Jordanian Royal Film Commission.

The 1st movie to be shown is "The Rest is Silence", directed by Nae Caranfil. The movie will start at 4:00 PM, and will last until 6:15 PM.

Next, a refreshment break will follow, with traditional Romanian pastry and sweets.

The 2nd movie to be shown is the Cannes 2007 winning movie, "California Dreamin' (Endless)" , featuring American actor Armand Assante, and directed by Cristian Nemescu. in Premier in Jordan. The movie will start at 6:35 PM, and will last until 9:00 PM.

Both movies will be subtitled in English.

Entry to both movies is FREE!

Entry to both movies is restricted to 18+

Information about the location will be published at the beginning of next week.

You have the option to watch the 1st movie only, the 2nd movie only, or both movies.

Please try to be at least 20 minutes prior to the show time at the location, as no people will be allowed in as the movies start!

The 1st Romanian Movie Night Festival

The Jordanian Romanian Forum for Culture (JRFC) and the romanian embassy in Amman, will be holding the 1st Romanian Movie Night Festival in Jordan on the occasion of the National Day of Romania, on the 1st of December, 2007, starting 4 PM, in Al-Balad Theater.

The screening will feature the Paris Movie Festival winning movie "The Rest is Silence", directed by Nae Caranfil. And the Cannes Festival 2007 winning movie "California Dreamin' (Endless)", featuring American actor Armand Assante, and directed by Cristian Nemescu, in a first time premier in Jordan.

A Couple of folkloric romanian nights, this weekend in Amman

The Romanian Embassy along with the European Union commission will be holding a romanian folkloric night this Thursday and Friday at Al-Hussein Cultural Center, at The City Hall in Ras Al-Ein.

The folkloric night will be performed by one of romania's biggest folkloric ensembles, VLASCA, from Giurgiu in southern Romania.

The performance will be starting at 8 PM, and entrance is free.
